Zero Suicide

Every year, 4,000 Canadians die by suicide. St. Joseph’s is committed to improving the statistics and preventing suicide in our health care system – because even one is too many.

In 2017, St. Joseph’s became the first health care organization in Canada to adopt the Zero Suicide initiative, a system-wide quality improvement initiative that sets a bold goal of reducing the number of suicides in the health care system to zero by wrapping care around the individual.

In the programs where it has launched, Zero Suicide has already created a cultural change and standardized the model of care to place the focus on patient safety. Plans are underway to integrate Zero Suicide across all programs at St. Joseph’s Health Care London by the end of 2020.

But we need your help to complete the funding to extend the program to our community partners and ensure that no one falls through gaps in their care journey.
