Brenda and Hans invested in quality care through a gift in their Will
Brenda Callaghan’s history with St. Joseph’s started the day she was born.
Her father, a surgeon, started his career at St. Joseph’s Hospital in 1925. Brenda and all six of her siblings were born there. She herself worked there as a medical radiation technologist until her retirement. Today, her husband, Hans, resides at St. Joseph’s Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care.
Brenda’s seen the evolution of St. Joseph’s firsthand. She’s so impressed by the quality of care.
“It's good to give back, and I thought of the hospital right away. It was my first choice.”
Brenda was always taught to have compassion and respect for others. When the opportunity arose, a gift to St. Joseph’s felt like the most natural thing in the world. She and her younger brother, John, created a named endowed fund through the Foundation in honour of their parents - a fund she will continue to support through a gift in her Will.
Brenda knows how important donor gifts are to St. Joseph’s. She’s thankful to the generous folks who gave before her – those people are responsible for her husband’s comfort at this stage in his life, and for the care that means so much to her. And now, she’s proud to be giving back herself.
