Lawson Medical Cyclotron and Radiochemistry Facility
Funding Need: $937,500
The Lawson Medical Cyclotron and Radiochemistry Facility produces radioisotopes that enable researchers to see molecules in the body in 3D – and gain new insights into some of the most challenging diseases Canadians face today.
Researchers use the cyclotron for life-changing research from uncovering new ways to diagnose Alzheimer’s disease to ensuring that people with cancer can receive the best treatment. Expanding the cyclotron facility could quadruple the number of radioisotopes produced each day, opening the door to new research to extend, improve and save lives.
