Fight like a warrior (in a pink dress)

At two upcoming events, three women battle back against breast cancer

three women hold up a large cheque for $16,048

Alanna Riley, Dr. Muriel Brackstone and Christiena Healey hold up a cheque for $16,048 – proceeds from the 50 Shades of Pink event in April 2019.

What does a city planner, a personal trainer, and a nurse all have in common? Not much unless you’re talking about Alanna Riley, Michelle Goldrick and Christiena Healey. These three passionate women are united by a shared purpose to put an end to breast cancer. Having gone through treatment themselves, they are determined to make the journey easier for others.

Known as The Pink Dress Society, the three women began fundraising for St. Joseph’s Breast Care program by hosting two luxurious events in London. They’ve already raised more than $20,000 in support of St. Joseph’s. And they’re not finished yet.

“We want people to become more aware of breast cancer and so we decided to run with our vision and create events to do something about it” says Alanna.

Four women hold up a large cheque

Michelle Goldrick, Alanna Riley, Dr. Muriel Brackstone and Christiena Healey hold up the proceeds from A Little Pink Dress event held in October 2018.

The 2nd annual A Little Pink Dress event returns in October for a night of fashion, cocktails, and prizes at Sunningdale Golf & Country Club. The theme of the event is how children are affected when their parents are diagnosed with breast cancer. This will be followed by the Vegas-themed 50 Shades of Pink next April.

Proceeds from both events will support the Breast Care program at St. Joseph’s led by Dr. Muriel Brackstone.  For Alanna, Christiena and Michelle, it’s a cause worth fighting for. They’ve been through breast cancer and know exactly what they’re working towards. As Christiena puts it, “The three of us might not be here today if it wasn’t for the people who changed health care before us. We’re trying to make the journey better for anyone coming after us.”

Join them for a great night in support of breast care
