Preventing Diabetic Blindness

NOTICE: This evening’s DocTalk “Preventing Diabetic Blindness” with Dr. Tom Sheidow has been postponed, due to precautions related to novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Though the risk to Canadians remains low, we have made this decision out of an abundance of caution, based on ongoing discussions with our health care partners. At this time, we feel it is in the best interest of the public to avoid hosting gatherings which draw large numbers of people together. Dr. Shiedow’s lecture will be rescheduled at a later date.

Dr. Thomas Sheidow is an ophthalmologist and surgeon at St. Joseph’s Ivey Eye Institute as well as an associate professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Western University’s Schulich School of Medicine. He will discuss the risks of eye disease as well as prevention strategies and current treatment options for individuals living with Diabetes.
