Dr. Tim Doherty
Dr. Doherty is an Associate Professor and in his second term as Chair/Chief of the Dept. of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation within the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western University. He is a consultant physiatrist at St. Joseph’s Health Care, Parkwood Institute and within the Neuromuscular Program at London Health Sciences Centre.
Dr. Doherty has pioneered the development of quantitative electromyographic techniques that have been employed to study aging, motor neuron disease and peripheral neuropathies and is recognized internationally for these contributions. He has published over 100 peer- reviewed papers, numerous book chapters and presents frequently at National and International Meetings. He has held research funds from CIHR and NSERC among others. Dr. Doherty was president of the Canadian Association of PM&R from 2005-2007. He has served on the editorial board of Muscle and Nerve and the Journal of Clinical Neuromuscular Disease, and Associate Editor of the American Journal of PM&R.
When not working, Dr. Doherty enjoys cycling, weight training and enjoying time with family.
