What is Breakfast of Champions?
Breakfast of Champions is a key community event for St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation and the Canadian Mental Health Association London-Middlesex who work together to highlight issues of mental health and keep the dialogue front and centre in the public arena. Funds raised through the event support mental health care programs in London.
Striving to reduce the prejudice and discrimination that surrounds those living with a mental illness, the event features a key note speaker(s) who shares their personal stories about adversity and struggles with mental illness. Past Breakfast of Champions speakers include, Valerie Pringle, one of Canada’s most accomplished television hosts, and her daughter Catherine, Mary Walsh, one of Canada’s most beloved comediennes and political satirists; Lieutenant-General the honourable Roméo Dallaire (Ret’d); Shelagh Rogers, a veteran broadcast-journalist and host of CBC flagship programs; and mental health advocate, Margaret Trudeau.
This year, St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation in partnership with the London-Middlesex branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association are pleased to present Michael Landsberg. One of Canada’s best known sports broadcasters and host of TSN’s Off the Record, Landsberg has been battling depression for 14 years.
