Operational Stress Injury Clinic
The Operational Stress Injury Clinic is a unique program within Veterans Care
The program offers specialized out patient mental health services for Veterans, members of the Canadian Forces and eligible members of the RCMP who are encountering ongoing difficulties as a result of psychological injury, post traumatic stress disorder and traumatic events. Through specialized services provided at the clinic, people are able to improve their health and minimize the effects of operational stress injuries.
The Parkwood clinic is one of only two in Ontario and nine such clinics across Canada.
A gift in support of the Operational Stress Injury Clinic will support research projects and studies currently underway in the areas of group therapy effectiveness, education for OPP officers related to post traumatic stress disorder, factors that affect smoking and smoking cessation in the military, and the negative impact of sleeping disorders.
