Endowed funds are an important means of ensuring the ability of St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation to support future program and care needs at the various sites and in the various programs of St. Joseph’s Health Care, London.
With endowed funds, the original value is preserved and only a portion of the interest they generate annually is utilized for charitable purposes.
To create a donor-created endowed fund, there must be an initial contribution of at least $50,000. The board of directors may, upon the recommendation of the president of the foundation, approve the creation of a donor-created endowed fund with an initial contribution of less than $50,000, coupled with a signed pledge agreement to contribute the balance of the $50,000 over a period of no more than three years.
The foundation has created a number of key policies that support the management and disbursement of endowed funds.
